She tucked a paisley pussy-bow shirt by Ralph Lauren into a pair of wide black trousers, accessorizing with a black belt and gold hoop earrings. A high ponytail completed the look! Some photographs of Duchess Kate at the exhibition and of the exquisite bejeweled eggs themselves were posted to the Cambridges’ Instagram account with the caption, “Back in the V&A Museum to see the incredible new ‘Fabergé in London: Romance to Revolution’ exhibition. “It holds over 200 objects, documenting the work and expertise of Carl Fabergé.” Among the eggs on display are several on loan from Queen Elizabeth II including the Colonnade Egg, the Basket of Flowers Egg and the Mosaic Egg. According to the Daily Mail, the exhibition of Fabergé’s work “represents “the largest display of his legendary Imperial Easter Eggs in a generation.” A spokesperson for the museum said that some of the eggs have never been displayed in the UK until now. These include the Moscow Kremlin Egg (“inspired by the architecture of the Dormition Cathedral in Moscow” and “featuring a music box that plays Tsar Nicholas II’s favourite hymn”) as well as the Third Imperial Egg of 1887, which still “contains its surprise, a gold Swiss pocket-watch.” The 57 Fabergé eggs that survive today were made under the supervision of Carl Fabergé in Saint Petersburg in Imperial Russia, with the most famous being created as Easter gifts for the wives and mothers of Tsars Alexander III and Nicholas II. Wikipedia tells us that the Tsars did not know what form the eggs would take, and nor did they make requests as to the eggs’ designs. “The only requirements were that each contain a surprise, and that each be unique.” Next up, Wavy Side-Swept Hair, a Glossy Pink Lip and a Shimmering Sequined Dress—Duchess Kate Wowed at the Royal Variety Show!
