When is Stranger Things Season 4 coming out?
Stranger Things Season 4 will be divided into two parts, the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, wrote in a letter to fans in February 2022. Season 4, Volume 1 will drop on Netflix on May 27, 2022, with Volume 2 following on July 1, 2022. “With nine scripts, over 800 pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one. Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results, and we can’t wait to share it with you,” they wrote. “Given the unprecedented length, and to get it to you as soon as possible, Season 4 will be released in two volumes. Volume One will release on May 27; Volume Two will release five weeks later on July 1. So that’s the good news. It’s coming soon. And it’s better than ever. Director and executive producer Shawn Levy told Varietyof the decision to halt production, “I was having phone calls with Netflix while directing takes and blocking scenes. We shared the news with our cast and crew that we would be pausing production out of an abundance of caution. There were no sick crew members, no one was exhibiting symptoms, but it seemed like the right thing to do.” Levy added that it was a “bittersweet moment” to shut down production a month in “when [they] felt like [they] were on a roll.” He admitted, “When you’re shooting, you create this micro society, this community. You’re aware of the world beyond, but in all of my years directing and producing, I’m hard pressed to come up with any comparisons for this truly global situation.” Some of the cast had a table read before production shut down, and the adorable moments were captured on video.
