The Voice tonight recap
Carson got right to the results. The first artist to go through based on America’s votes was Joshua Vacanti from Team Legend. America also saved Hailey Mia from Team Kelly. Entertainment was next on the agenda when Team Ariana – Holly Forbes, Jim and Sasha Allen and Ariana – performed “FourFive Seconds” by Paul McCartney. Then it was time for more results. Next to learn they were going through was Paris Winningham from Team Blake, followed by Holly. After some chit chat, Carson continued the reveal. Going through was Wendy Moten from Team Blake, as well as Girl Named Tom from Team Kelly, and Lana Scott from Team Blake. Then Team Blake – Blake, Lana, Paris and Wendy – took the stage for a version of the Motown classic “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch).” At the end of the performance, Wendy tripped over something on the stage and fell. She was helped up and walked off and seemed to be fine. The four remaining artists returned to the stage to learn their fates. Carson continued by telling Jeremy Rosado from Team Kelly that he made the Top 10, as did Jershika Maple from Team Legend. That meant that Jim and Sasha Allen and Gymani from Team Kelly had to perform for the Instant Save, but first Wendy returned to reassure everyone she was OK. Gymani took the stage first, singing an infectious version of “Tell Me Something Good” by Rufus and Chaka Khan. John told her: “I just love how unstoppable you are. You have been put in this position two weeks in a row. You had a stumble at the beginning of the performance, but you recovered with such grace and energy and resilience. You were wailing out there. I love when you hit those big notes. You were crackling and I love you.” Kelly told her: “You are not just a great vocalist, but a great entertainer. You are such a powerhouse. It was seamless. You are confident and in control. I have no doubt that America will vote you through.” Next, singing “I Won’t Give Up” as possibly their last performance in the competition were Jim and Sasha Allen. Blake said: “The audience is saying it for me. We have seen more steady growth with you two then I think with anybody in the competition so I am surprised to see you here. You guys are incredible.” Ariana said: “You two are such brilliant musicians. You have consistently delivered some of the best performances of the season. It doesn’t make any sense. America please vote.”
